SOWER

Sower is in the Kohoku region – a unique area surrounding the northern shore of Lake Biwa. Our restaurant’s name harkens back to a starting point of gastronomy- seeds. As seeds migrate from place to place- history and stories may follow.
At Sower- we would like to place our roots firmly and share our story with you.
Since Edo Period, unique food practices have been developed in the areas surrounding Lake Biwa.
As we welcome you and share the cuisine of Kohoku, our goal is to leave our guests with a memory that transcends the confines of our restaurant.

Team

Coleman Griffin has envisioned a New Kohoku Cuisine. He brings experience from The Restaurant at Meadowood and benu- both 3 Michelin star restaurants in Northern California. Having arrived in Tokyo, a year was spent as a sous chef at restaurant INUA in Iidabashi. With varied cooking experience, the menu will offer a range of expression- ultimately focusing on the products found in Shiga.
Service manager Kathy Jeon, also a California native, has varied experience in both the kitchen and the dining room in several restaurants on the West Coast of the United States. Prior to SOWER, Kathy was managing various aspects of the dining room at INUA. Time seems to slow in the Japanese countryside-it allows Kathy and our team to provide sense of hospitality our guests will remember.

SOWER is always looking for dedicated professionals to join our team. To work with us, please email recruit@restaurantsower.com.
